York plant to create jobs for trained green energy specialists
Dozens of new jobs geared specifically towards professionals boasting electrician and green energy engineering qualifications are due to be created in York over the coming months. With the green light having recently been given for the planned construction of the Selby Renewable Energy Park on a site just outside the city formerly occupied by Tate & Lyle, developers have confirmed that they are in the process of signing up contractors, with up to 120 new jobs to be made available in the near future.
It is estimated that around 80 jobs will be created through the construction of the green energy plant, with a further 40, including positions for electricians and engineers, to be sustained at the plant once it is operational, the York Press has reported.
Welcoming the news, local councilor Mark Crane told the paper: "I'm pleased to hear that 40 people living in the area will find good jobs and look forward to the plant becoming a reality."
As much as eight megawatts of green power will be produced at the Selby site once it is fully operational, sufficient to power all the homes in the area for a year.
News of the jobs comes after the government announced the launch of £1 billion worth of new loans for the UK green energy sector, with thousands of trained and qualified electricians and engineers set to benefit from new positions over the coming years.

I was so undecided about this until I read your article. Persuasion must be one of your gifts, as you have presented a convincing alternative to anything I have read.
